Meet the Team
Drs. John and Eva Fiastro have been creating beautiful and healthy smiles in Baltimore Highlands since 1977.

Dr. John
“Even after 33 years I find dentistry an exciting profession. I enjoy coming to work every day and consider it a privilege to be able to help patients achieve oral health by providing them with quality dental care. “
Education
• Loyola High School, 1968
• Loyola College of Maryland, 1972
• University of Maryland
• Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, 1977
Continuing Dental Education
Dentistry today is very different from when I graduated from dental school. New procedures and materials are always being introduced. Soon after graduation, I made a commitment to continuing dental education in order to provide my patients with the newest developments. In 1997, I attained Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Only 7 percent of general dentists have achieved Fellowship. Today, I continue taking approximately 50 hours of continuing education classes every year, particularly in the fields of implants and root canals. I am a member of the Dean’s Faculty at the University of Maryland and a member of the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Personal Life
Baltimore is home! I was born, raised, and educated here. I married Dr. Eva in 1975 and upon her graduation from dental school she became my professional partner. Over the years, I have been involved in many organizations. When our boys were younger I was involved in Scouting. I enjoy spending time with my family, outdoor activities, gardening, and travel.

Dr. Eva
“I love what I do! It has been very satisfying to help patients improve both their smile and their oral health. I have also enjoyed treating families, sometimes treating up to 4 generations.”
Education

Continuing Dental Education
After graduating from dental school I worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the dental clinic of the Children’s Comprehensive Care Center. When I started to work in our practice I saw many children and so developed an interest in orthodontics. In 1985-1986 I took an extensive orthodontic program and thus incorporated orthodontics into our general practice. Since then I have continued taking courses in orthodontics as well as other fields of dentistry. In 2001, I attained Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Only 7 percent of general dentists have achieved Fellowship. Today, I continue taking approximately 50 hours of continuing education classes every year, particularly in orthodontics and occlusion. I am a member of the Dean’s Faculty at the University of Maryland and a member of the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Personal Life
I was born in Havana, Cuba and came with my parents to the United States in 1957. Since then Baltimore has been home! Dr. John and I have 3 children who live in the Baltimore area. I have always been involved in different organizations, including the Board of Trustees at my high school, parish council president at our church, and numerous organizations with our children over the years. I enjoy spending time with my family, outdoor activities, and travel.
